Designed by Proudfoot & Bird, it is one of Iowa’s few Beaux Arts style courthouses. Note the 28 unique grotesques that serve as the keystones for the second floor arched windows. Restoration is currently in progress by OPN Architects. The four-phase project includes this historic courthouse, the Justice Center and Criminal Courts.
